The Murfreesboro Symphony, Symphony Chorus, and soprano Dina Cancryn, join forces to present the ethereal “Requiem in D Minor, Op. 48″ by Gabriel Fauré in the Music of
Heaven and Earth. This work spans an enormous range of musical emotion, from the haunting intensity of the “Libera Me” to the transfiguring “Lux Aeterna.” The chorus, directed by Angela Tipps, and orchestra will then present John Rutter’s setting of the inspiring hymn, “For the Beauty of the Earth.” After intermission, the MSO will present Beethoven’s heroic “Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92,” one of Beethoven’s best loved works.
