Join the Murfreesboro Symphony for An Evening in Paris, and leave your passport at home. The concert begins with Debussy’s ethereal and dreamlike “Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun.” Next, we take you on a trip to the Ballets Russes to enjoy the dramatic “Firebird Suite (1919)” by Igor Stravinsky, a suite from the ballet that premiered in Paris in 1910. After intermission, take a stroll down the Champs Elysees and see Paris through the eyes of George Gershwin as the orchestra performs his nostalgic “An American in Paris.” Finally, experience the might and majesty of the First United Methodist Church organ as the orchestra presents the second movement of the Saint-Saëns “Symphony No. 3 in C Minor, Opus 78, Organ.”
